Unfortunately this also lead to my reputation being further tarnished. If I really wanted to be the man it could never happen with him around so it was kind of easy to stick with my goal of going somewhat straight. He couldn't help himself, he was just like a leech that had to attach himself to anyone who had anything going on and feed off of them until he had completely sucked them dry. Being around him all the time made it really easy to not deal anymore. Me and Will preferred beer but we'd drink liquor when we were going out usually. I still smoked all the time but around the age of 17 I started drinking the whole day. During these years we became so close he was like a brother to me.

With Tom's passing I started spending all my free time with Will. My family was putting some pressure on me and I felt ashamed for getting kicked out of school and I think a part of me wanted to make things right. I decided I would no longer sell any drugs and would try to go to school and take it serious. As a minor I had no qualms about doing the things I had done because the penalties were much less harsh. Once I turned 18 I had a different outlook on the type of risks I was willing to take. I signed up for a couple classes and my mom wanted me to get a job as well if I was going to continue living at home. My grades had declined so much in high school that my only option was the local community college with plans to transfer after completing some credits. Both great games I wholeheartedly recommend.Īfter the dust settled from the high school expulsion I had to make plans for the future. I've spent more time playing The Binding of Isaac and Spelunky than anything else in recent years.

I'll play some indie titles on PC and Vita, only triple A games I've played for a long time is Dark souls and Dark souls 2. If you meant games besides poker I try to avoid because it's a timesink. I'll occasionally play online tournaments but v rarely these days.
Been playing seriously for about 10, professionally for 5-6. I played my first hand of poker about 20 years ago. Once I started playing bigger I haven't really struggled much.
Started playing live again a few years ago and moved up pretty quickly.
I wasn't really a big winner and the current landscape in US was tilting. I quit live and went back to playing online. My winrate was prob 1/3-1/2 of what I'd be able to achieve now in those games. I'd spend the whole session grinding online dating apps, reading 2p2, chatting with friends and autopiloting. I made enough to get by playing live but my winrate was meh and I had a propensity to spew stacks and was miserable playing in those games. I was forced to play live poker again and was not rolled for the games at all but luckily ran good right at the beginning. I grinded up a roll to play the games and shottake high value tournaments and then was busto again on Black Friday when I got most of my money locked up. I wasn't v good and my living expenses caught up to me within a few months and I was busto playing low stakes tournaments on stars/FTP and having to supplement my income to pay the bills. My latest attempt started in 2010 playing a mix of online tournaments and live cash games. It finally stuck about 5.5 years ago but I've had some rough patches during that stretch for sure. I've made a bunch of attempts at having poker being my only source of income over the years. I'm assuming you're a full-time pro, how did you get your start?
